Responsible AI and data ethics

How we decide what work to take, and what we will not take.

Last updated 22 September 2026

Consent is not optional

Every file carries a consent record naming the purpose in language the contributor actually read. Biometric processing is named explicitly. A dataset without this is a liability, and we will not assemble one.

Representation

We recruit against demographic quotas rather than accepting whoever self-selects, and we report the achieved distribution rather than the target. Where a quota cannot be filled we say so instead of quietly substituting.

Contributor welfare

Rates are published, payout schedules are fixed, and every rejection can be appealed. Content moderation and red-teaming work carries exposure limits, opt-out at any point and access to support.

Work we decline

We do not build datasets whose evident purpose is covert surveillance of individuals, discriminatory profiling, or deception of the people whose data is being used. We also decline work that requires collecting biometric data without informed, specific consent.
